A motorcycle ride to honor fallen veterans from Cape Cod is scheduled for Sunday. The sixth annual Big Nick’s Memorial Motorcycle Ride for the Fallen will begin at 11 a.m. at the Barnstable county jail in Bourne. The bikers will travel about 37 miles, and end at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. The ride is named after Marine Corporal Nicholas Xiarhos, a Yarmouth native killed in Afghanistan in 2009. Proceeds from the ride will benefit a scholarship fund named for Xiarhos and plans for a memorial honoring Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. (AP)
