Twin 9-year-old sisters from Plymouth who were missing since they got off their school bus at 4 p.m. were found late Wednesday night at their mother’s home in Lewiston, Maine, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Je t’aime Valentine and Dasia Valentine, fourth graders at West Elementary School, were last seen on Pilgrim Hill Road at about 4 p.m., according to Plymouth police.

But the girls were later “located and are safe,” State Police spokesman David Procopio in an e-mail just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A vehicle was located at the Lewiston home. “Lewiston police went up to residence and twins were inside with their mother,” Procopio said.

Plymouth Police Chief Michael Botieri told reporters that the girl’s 35-year-old mother and her 38-year-old boyfriend, who were not identified, were arrested and are being charged with kidnapping.

Police in Lewiston did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment from the Globe.
