Fund-raiser benefits Marathon bombing victim

A new fund-raising group, Lowell Musicians for Jeff Bauman, will host a benefit for the 27-year-old Chelmsford resident who was severely injured in the Boston Marathon bombings. Doors will open for Support Jeff Bauman Night at 6 p.m. on May 5 at The Village Smokehouse, 98 Middle St., Lowell. At least five area bands will perform. Admission is $10; the event is for ages 21 and over and will be hosted by Jack Baldwin of WCAP radio. Bauman lost both legs from the knee down in the bombings, then aided authorities from his hospital bed by helping to identify one of the suspects.
