Enterovirus blamed for toddler’s death in Michigan

DETROIT — A Clinton Township toddler has become the first person in Michigan to die from a virus that has caused nearly 700 cases of severe respiratory illness across the country. Children's Hospital of Michigan said that 21-month-old Madeline Reid died Friday from enterovirus D68. A 4-year-old boy in New Jersey died of the virus last month. (AP)

ANCHORAGE — Juneau police have apologized for mistakenly telling a couple that their son had died in a car crash. Karen and Jay Priest learned of the error when they went to tell his girlfriend, and 29-year-old Justin answered the door. (AP)

NEW YORK — An Occupy Wall Street protester who became a rallying point for activists after being convicted of assaulting a police officer has been cleared of charges from another clash with police. Cecily McMillan was found not guilty Friday of obstructing government administration. (AP)

Teen killed in corn maze accident

HAUSER — A bus struck and killed a man impersonating a zombie at a corn maze attraction, Idaho authorities said Saturday. The 18-year-old was running toward the bus when he tripped and fell under its rear tires, witnesses told police. (AP)
