NEW YORK — Three New Yorkers will become brothers in blue and their father's colleagues.
Three sons of a city police official are due to be sworn in as officers Tuesday. It may mark the first time three siblings have graduated from the police academy at one time.
Their father is Deputy Inspector Anthony Favale of Staten Island, a 30-year police veteran. He says he's very proud that his sons chose to follow in his career, ''and the fact that it's happening all at the same time is like winning the lottery.''
"I let the kids make their own decision, and it just so happened that they chose the Police Department,'' Favale told the New York Post.
The sons are 24-year-old Stephen and 22-year-old twins Alec and John.
They will join over 1,200 other cadets at Tuesday's ceremony at Madison Square Garden.
After graduation, the brothers will go their separate ways. Stephen will head to the 120th Precinct on Staten Island, John to the 60th in Coney Island, Brooklyn, and Alec to the 6th in the West Village.
Stephen Favale said the brothers admire their father, and ''you really do need three sets of feet to fill his shoes,'' the Post reported.
