How to send a letter to the Editor

COVID-19 update – a note to readers: While Boston Globe Opinion staff are working remotely, we ask that readers send letters to the editor by e-mail only, to the e-mail address listed below.

Letters to the editor represent the views of readers. The letters feature a broad range of opinions. Letters are selected from a large volume by the letters editor. The best way to increase the chance of having your letter chosen is to make it timely, original, and short. Usually, letters respond to articles or opinion pieces in the Globe, not simply to general issues of the day. The Globe reserves the right to edit letters for space, clarity, or content.

Letters must be signed and list a daytime phone number for verification. Send your letters (200 words or less) to letter@globe.com or to:
