A man was burned while trying to rescue his mother from a house fire in Fall River Monday night, officials said.
Around 11:30 p.m., firefighters went to 126 Brown St., where heavy fire was coming from the first floor, said Fire Chief Jeffrey P. Bacon.
The man’s mother, 59, suffered minor burns to her head, Bacon said.
The man, 39, “had more serious burns all over his body from going in to rescue her prior to our arrival,” Bacon said.
Bacon said the fire was knocked down quickly but the damage was “significant enough” that the family will be displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
