Jayson Tatum was a McDonald’s All-American after all.

The McDonald’s on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton has joined the region in congratulating the star, and loyal patron, for helping the Boston Celtics win the NBA title this week.

“CONGRATS TO OUR CUSTOMER JAYSON TATUM” reads the message underneath the restaurant’s golden arches.

Rayees Shaikh, the manager at the fast-food restaurant, said Tatum and his son, Jayson Jr., who goes by the nickname “Deuce,” have come by a few times in recent months.

“He usually orders a Happy Meal for his son, and a large fry for himself,” Shaikh said. “Well, I assume it’s for himself.”

Shaikh said the congratulatory sign has received glowing reviews from Celtics fans, and people have been stopping by and taking pictures of it. Local TV news stations have also reported on the sign, he said.

Tatum, who lives in Newton, has ordered there at least “four or five times” in the six months that he’s worked in that location, Shaikh said.

Tatum was last there on Sunday, the day before the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA championship.

Whatever he ordered, it served him well.

Tatum had 31 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists in the clinching 106-88 win. And Celtics fans were lovin’ it.
