A man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by an MBTA bus at Forest Hills Station in Jamaica Plain, according to police.
Boston police received calls reporting that a man had been hit on the lower busway at 11:52 a.m., according to Officer Mark Marron, a spokesperson for the department. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, Marron said.
Because the victim’s injuries are so severe, the department’s homicide unit is investigating the incident, according to Marron.
An MBTA Transit Police spokesperson, Superintendent Richard Sullivan, declined to comment on the details of the incident or the bus driver’s employment status.
“The TPD as well as the entire MBTA organization have the victim in our thoughts and we pray for his recovery,” Sullivan wrote in an email on Saturday.
