Authorities are investigating after a FedEx driver was allegedly robbed and threatened by two masked men while delivering an Apple computer to a home in the town of Harvard Thursday officials said.
At 12:43 p.m., Harvard police and neighboring law enforcement agencies went to Stow Road for a report of an “armed robbery involving a FedEx driver delivering a package,” police said in a statement.
Upon arrival, the driver told officers he had been approached from behind by two men who forcibly took the package that he was delivering to a residence, officials said.
The suspects had verbally threatened the victim by implying they were armed, but no firearm was shown, police said. The driver was not injured.
“We are aware of the incident and are cooperating with the local police in their investigation,” FedEx spokesperson Adam Snyder said in an email. “The safety and wellbeing of our team members is our top priority, and we’re grateful no one was injured in this incident.”
The suspects were driving a “white, late-model Acura TLX with very dark tinted windows and a Connecticut license plate bearing partial letters ‘BN’,” Harvard Police said.
Officers obtained home surveillance footage that showed the suspects grabbing the package from the driver. The driver also appeared to engage in an argument with the suspects before they drove away.
A neighbor reported that they noticed the suspects parked in the vicinity for several hours prior to the robbery, police said. Investigators said they believe the robbery was targeted and premeditated.
The Harvard Police Department and regional law enforcement partners are investigating the incident. Officers said they are following up on several leads, including additional surveillance footage and reports from area residents.
Anyone with information related to the incident or who saw suspect vehicle in the area before or after the robbery is urged to contact Harvard police Detective Genetti at cgenetti@harvard-ma.gov or call 978-456-1212.
