When the kids start complaining that they’re bored and want to jet off to a sunny and warm spring break destination, you can refer them to a new study that determined Boston is the best spring break destination for families worldwide.

Yes, you read that correctly.

The study, commissioned by Icelandair, examined key metrics across 50 cities, such as hotel price, average number of sunny days, cultural attractions, safety, and air quality. As you may have guessed, temperature did not figure into the results. Boston landed at the top thanks in part to cultural attractions and safety.

If your family isn’t keen on spending spring break in Boston, the study found that Amsterdam is the top European destination for families, thanks to its walkability and cultural attractions. Dubai is the sunniest destination on the list, boasting 3,580 annual hours of sunshine. Bangkok offers the cheapest dining experiences, with an average meal costing just over $2. Taipei is the safest destination, scoring 83.85 on the world safety index, and Reykjavik has the fastest internet speeds, in case your kids want to spend their time doing exactly what they do at home: scrolling on their phones.
