The Bruins on Friday acquired defenseman Victor Soderstrom — the 11th overall selection in the 2019 NHL Draft — from the Blackhawks.
In return, Boston sent minor league defenseman Ryan Mast and a seventh-round selection in the upcoming draft to Chicago.
Soderstrom was originally drafted by the Coyotes and has played in 53 NHL games, all with Arizona, collecting one goal and 11 points.
The 24-year-old spent last season with Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League, accumulating 9 goals and 37 points in 49 games.
Mast, a sixth-round selection by the Bruins in 2021, played in 37 games for Providence in 2024-25, collecting five assists.
