After a brief warmup that saw Boston’s warmest day in over two weeks, our weather pattern will turn a bit unsettled with colder, breezy weather on tap Friday and a good chance for Boston to stay completely dry for the first weekend since Valentine’s Day.

Quick look Friday: Sun peeks through as temperatures dip

Clouds begin to decrease by the early afternoon, setting up a partly sunny late afternoon across the region. There may be a sliver of energy that brings a few clouds back into the picture late Friday night, with a sprinkle or flurry possible across southern Rhode Island, the South Coast, and Cape Cod and islands.

Friday morning was actually the warmest part of the day, with Boston seeing temperatures slowly drop about 10 degrees toward the 30s by the time Friday night plans come around.

With cold, dense air pushing across New England, we’ll also feel a breeze for most of the day. A northwesterly wind of 10 to 15 mph may spark a few gusts close to 25 mph, at times, enough to add a little extra bite to the air, especially on Friday evening, when it’ll feel close to freezing out.

Saturday morning will see high pressure slide near New England from the southwest, which will set up a mostly sunny day across the region, while making for a frosty start to the weekend. A couple of spot flurries are possible across Northern New England.

Saturday morning may only be in the 20s and low 30s, with highs only crawling to the upper 30s across Greater Boston.

Sunday will see a few more clouds enter the picture with high pressure sliding east and slinging a southerly flow into New England. This wind from the south will scoop up some moisture from the Atlantic and spur partly to mostly cloudy skies.

There will be a weak system that could spark a couple of spot showers over Northern New England, but Boston will likely stay dry through the night.
