South Boston woman charged with manslaughter in fatal stabbing

A 24-year-old woman is facing manslaughter charges after a fatal stabbing in South Boston on Friday evening, police said.

Gisselle Pascual, of South Boston, was arrested later Friday night, according to a department statement. She is scheduled to be arraigned in the South Boston division of Boston Municipal Court Monday.

An attorney for Pascual was not listed in court records as of Saturday evening.

Police responded to a radio call of a person stabbed inside an apartment at 258 Old Colony Ave. at approximately 5:52 p.m., police said. They found a man suffering from stab wounds, who was taken to a local hospital; he was pronounced dead Saturday.

Pascual was initially charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon; the charge against her was updated after the man died, police said.

The incident is under investigation, police said. Those with information are encouraged to contact the Boston police homicide unit at 617-343-4470.
