Two teens were arrested Wednesday in Taunton after police and a SWAT team seized multiple large-capacity firearms, including handguns and a rifle, from a home, according to police.
The firearms were not properly stored and could have been accessed by children in the home at 255 Somerset Ave., the Taunton Police Department said.
Jrese Jorge Matchem-Evora, 19, , is facing multiple charges, including improper storage of a firearm near a minor, carrying a firearm without a license, and reckless endangerment of a child, police said.
A 17-year-old male was also arrested on multiple firearm possession and improper storage charges, police said.
Both were due to be arraigned in Taunton District Court on Wednesday. Information on the outcome of the arraignments was not available Wednesday night.
On Tuesday, Taunton police received a search warrant for 255 Somerset Ave.
Taunton detectives and the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team searched the home and seized two loaded handguns, a pistol, and a rifle.
Each firearm could had the capacity to hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition, the statement said.
