A Quincy man who set out in a kayak Wednesday was found dead in Boston Harbor off Thompson Island Wednesday night, officials said.
The body of Tri Trinh, 72, was recovered by Quincy police and fire, State Police, and State Environmental Police, the office of Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement Thursday.
“There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play,” the statement said.
Quincy police said authorities responded to reports of a body in the water after 6:30 p.m.
Thrinh had set off in his kayak from a beach in Quincy earlier Wednesday, the district attorney’s office said.
His body was brought to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton. The results of his autopsy are pending, according to Hayden’s office.
State Environmental Police are investigating, Quincy police said.
