Travel + Leisure’s annual best list has some good news for Boston. The magazine’s readers have chosen the posh XV Beacon as the best city hotel in the continental United States. It was also chosen as the number one hotel in Boston.
According to the magazine’s website, more than 200,000 readers voted on their favorites, ranging from national parks to resorts. Other categories include cruise ships, trains, and favorite cities.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized as the number one city hotel in the United States and the number one city hotel in Boston by Travel + Leisure readers,” Amy Finsilver, general manager of XV Beacon, said on the hotel’s website. “It is a tribute to our extraordinary team, whose passion, care, and attention to every detail create the genuine connections that inspire guests to return year after year. We are deeply grateful for our guests’ trust and support and continue to choose XV Beacon as their home in Boston.”

It was the only Boston hotel to land on T+L’s list of the 100 top hotels in the world. You can find the complete list of the magazine’s winners on its website.

Maine was the only other state to land hotels on the World’s Best Hotel list with the Norumbega in Camden and the Quisisana Resort in Lovell. The Quisiana was also named the top resort in New England and the fifth-best resort in North America.
