The man whose body was recovered from Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury Monday has been identified as Yunio Ciromine Antonio Chaparro, 31, of Worcester, law enforcement officials said.
At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of a possible drowning near Sunset Beach at Lake Quinsigamond, Shrewsbury police said in a statement on Facebook.
Officials used drones, dive teams and boats in an attempt to locate the individual on Sunday, but were unsuccessful, the statement said.
Chaparro’s body was recovered Monday morning using sonar technology and divers, according to police.
The man’s death is the second in recent months at the lake.
In June, a 4-year-old boy was found unresponsive in Lake Quinsigamond and was later pronounced dead, the Globe previously reported.
The lake is part of Quinsigamond State Park, a popular recreational spot in Central Massachusetts run by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation.
