After spoiling the Jets’ home opener in Winnipeg on Friday, the Bruins will look to do the same Saturday when they visit St. Paul, Minn., to face the Wild.
The Bruins’ 4-3 overtime victory against the Jets was secured on a strike by JJ Peterka, who has scored in each of his first two games with Boston.
Boston netminder Jeremy Swayman stopped 30 of Winnipeg’s 33 shots, but with back-to-back games in different cities, the Bruins could turn to Michael DiPietro for his season debut on Saturday.
DiPietro has appeared in only four NHL games — one each in the 2018-19, 2019-20, 2021-22 and 2025-26 seasons — and holds a career 5.01 goals-against average and a .780 save percentage.
Most of his 2025-26 season was spent with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, where he posted a 34-8-1 record with a 1.91 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
The Wild are expected to start Jesper Wallstedt, who stopped 19 of 20 shots en route to a 3-1 victory over Nashville in the season opener on Thursday. He was part of a dominant effort on the penalty kill, where Minnesota fended off four power plays.
