A 15-year-old Uxbridge High School student died on Saturday after being ejected from a vehicle that crashed into a utility pole, the Uxbridge Police Department said in a statement.
Emergency crews responded to the area of 685 Chocolog Road about 8:50 p.m., where a Ford Focus carrying three people struck a utility pole and left the roadway, the police said.
The teenager was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where they were pronounced dead, police said.
The two other occupants were not identified, and police did not disclose whether they were injured.
The CEMLEC Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. Police have not said what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Uxbridge Police Department at 508-279-7755.
