Three Boston teenagers charged with home invasion in Norwood

Three Boston teenagers were charged with invading a home in Norwood on Sunday, police said.

The teenagers, ages 15, 16, and 17, were charged with home invasion, robbery, conspiracy, and gun possession, police said Monday. Police said they may seek additional charges.

They were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dedham Juvenile Court, police said.

Around 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a reported home invasion and armed robbery at a residence near Chapel Street, police said.

Police were told that three male suspects, two of whom were wearing masks, had fled after pistol-whipping a resident and stealing several items, police said.

The resident knew one of the suspects, police said.

Officers set up a perimeter and searched the surrounding area, police said.

One teenager was found nearby on some railroad tracks and arrested, police said.

About the same time, two individuals matching the descriptions of the other suspects were spotted on the department’s traffic camera system.

When officers tried to stop the two teenagers, they ran up the street but were later arrested at gunpoint following a brief chase, police said.

“This was a fast-moving incident involving a report of an armed robbery and armed suspects fleeing through a populated area,” Norwood’s police chief, Christopher Padden, said in the release. “I am particularly pleased that this incident was resolved without injury to our officers, the suspects, or members of the public.”

A gun and loaded magazine matching the resident’s description of the robbery weapon were later found on the ground near where the suspects had fled, police said.

A laser attachment was also found in a backpack associated with the teenagers, police said.

Police said they also found items allegedly taken during the robbery.
