When she was fighting a murder charge, she had the right to remain silent.

Now, Karen Read is ready to talk on a weekly basis with her lawyer Alan Jackson, who’s teaming up with her on a new podcast launching early next year, Pave Studios announced this week.

The company said in a statement posted Wednesday to Instagram that the podcast, “Read Between the Lines,” will tackle hot-button cases in the true crime arena, something Read’s no stranger to.

“Each week, they’ll take on a current case and examine how it was investigated, prosecuted, and covered, from the details that may have been overlooked to the decisions that shaped the outcome,” the entertainment company said. “Karen knows what it’s like to be on the other side of a true crime story, and Alan has spent his career inside the courtroom.”

Pave Studios told the Hollywood Reporter that the podcast will be available on all major platforms.

For those arriving late, prosecutors had charged Read, 46, with second-degree murder for allegedly backing her SUV in a drunken rage into her boyfriend, Boston police Officer John O’Keefe, early on Jan. 29, 2022, after dropping him off outside a Canton home following a night of bar-hopping.

The defense insisted she was framed and said O’Keefe entered the property, owned at the time by a fellow Boston police officer, where he was fatally beaten and possibly mauled by a German shepherd before his body was planted on the front lawn.

Read’s first criminal trial ended in a hung jury in July 2024, and jurors at her retrial acquitted her last year of the murder count, finding her guilty only of misdemeanor OUI, for which she received a year’s probation.

A number of related civil lawsuits remain pending.
