Wall Street took investors on a roller coaster ride this week, with a post-election rally giving way to a sharp sell-off fueled by fresh concerns about the artificial intelligence boom.
The Nasdaq plunged 5.5 percent Thursday, its worst single-day drop in 19 months, while the S&P 500 fell 4.3 percent, as investors reassessed the outlook for AI spending and the potential impact of Democrats taking control of Congress.
