The Spymasters: CIA in the Crosshairs Saturday, 9 p.m., Showtime

Timely, and likely to be illuminating, this film — from the Emmy-winning Naudet brothers, who directed the acclaimed "9/11" documentary and "The Presidents' Gatekeepers" series about White House chiefs of staff — pulls off an amazing feat: convincing all 12 living former directors of the CIA to discuss terrorism, interrogation tactics, the mission of the agency, and more. "Homeland" star Mandy Patinkin narrates.

Oprah's Master Class Sunday, 8 p.m., OWN

Brand-new Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree James Taylor continues the TV tour for his latest album, "Before This World." Taylor has recently showed off his comic side with appearances on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," poking fun at his earnest image and, in the case of Colbert, giving a hilarious update to his classic "Fire and Rain." When Taylor sits down with the Big O to discuss his long career, we imagine the Bay State native will be in a more contemplative mood.
