Ayla Brown, the daughter of former Senator Scott Brown, has been pursuing a singing career since graduating from Boston College, releasing a couple of albums and a collection of Christmas music. Her latest song, called “Fan the Flame,” was actually co-written by her father, who’s been playing a lot of guitar since losing his bid to unseat New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen last fall. According to Ayla, her dad helped her write the song on the occasion of his 29th wedding anniversary to Gail Huff, the former TV journalist who is Ayla’s mom. (Sample lyric: “Everyday I wake up/ I reflect upon my life/ Ups and downs no regrets/ So glad you are my wife.”) If he quits politics for good, Brown may have a future as a songwriter.
