Us Weekly, which was the first gossip publication to report that Ben Affleck was dating his ex-nanny, posted a big story on Wednesday about Boston’s most famous couple. “Gisele Bundchen Threatened Tom Brady With Divorce,” the headline says.
The story, which is attributed to “a source close to the world’s highest-paid model,” says that Brady and Bundchen started fighting after he received his Deflategate suspension in July. The source is quoted as saying, “Tom’s become very nasty and irritable and started acting out on her.” Us Weekly makes a point of mentioning that the pair didn’t spend their birthdays together.
But let’s remember what Bundchen posted on Instagram when Brady turned 38 last month.
“Happy birthday my love!” she wrote in the caption of a photo of herself with Brady and their kids, Benjamin and Vivian. “We’re so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for always giving us so much love. We love you! #love #family.”
Still, there’s little question that the glamorous couple has been under pressure.
Brady’s been under scrutiny for his alleged role in the Deflategate scandal -- in which game balls appeared to be under-inflated before a playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Pats QB has had to appear in court several times in connection with the case, the outcome of which is still to be determined by a New York judge. A decision should come by the end of the week.
There’ve been other curious moments this summer. Like when Affleck’s ex-nanny, Christine Ouzounian, was photographed on a private jet wearing Brady’s four jewel-encrusted Super Bowl rings. Turns out, Brady was on the Las Vegas-bound jet along with Affleck, who was just days away from announcing the bust up of his 10-year marriage to actress Jennifer Garner, said to be a close friend of Bundchen’s.
No word on whether Gi was on the jet.
