Variety reports that John Malkovich has joined the cast of “Supercon,” a comedy about the wild world of comic book conventions. The film tells the story of a group of washed-up television stars and comic book artists who make their living on the convention circuit. Things get interesting when this group of has-beens decide to commit the ultimate robbery, and hatch a plot to steal from the convention. “Supercon” is directed by Zak Knutson, and the film is slated to be released in October 2017. Malkovich also has a role in the forthcoming film “Deepwater Horizon,” which is scheduled to hit theaters Sept. 30.
