Gostkowski gets a kick out of his kids, Atlantis

AP PHOTO/CHARLES KRUPA/2013

When Stephen Gostkowski isn’t at Gillette Stadium or on an opponent’s turf kicking field goals for the New England Patriots, he enjoys traveling to the Bahamas. Born in Baton Rouge, La., Gostkowski, 30, is married with two young sons (4½ and 1½). In his ninth pro season, he is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history and is off to another strong start (8-for-8) this season. We caught up with one of the league’s clutch kickers to talk all things travel.

Favorite vacation spot? Atlantis [a mega resort] in the Bahamas. Great food, weather, and fun for my kids . . . and even more fun for the grown-ups.

Favorite food or drink while vacationing? For a drink, Miami Vice on the beach, and I enjoy good seafood.

Where would you like to travel to but haven’t? Italy, Australia, and South Africa. I haven’t gone because kids are a lot of work — LOL.

One item you can’t leave home without when traveling? Noise-canceling headphones. Oh, yeah, and my kids.

Aisle or window? Window because I like to look out during takeoff and landing.

Favorite childhood travel memory? It would have to be road trips going to baseball and soccer tournaments . . . and driving my parents crazy.

Guilty pleasure when traveling?I really enjoy flying by myself every once in a while.

Best travel tip? Don’t stress. I see too many people freak out about delays and flight cancellations . . . it makes me shake my head.
