One woman died and another was injured Sunday night after a shooting in Dorchester, according to Boston police.

A woman in her 20s died from a gunshot wound she suffered on Juliette Street just before 6 p.m., police said. Police believe that she was targeted. The other woman was hit by broken glass and is expected to survive.

Both victims were taken to Boston Medical Center, according to Boston police spokeswoman Rachel McGuire. Police did not immediately identify the victims, and said no arrests had been made late Sunday.

A dark colored sedan sat diagonally in the middle of Juliette Street, which was blocked off by yellow crime scene tape. Fox Street, a one-way road that leads to the scene, was also blocked.

Camera flash and flashlights lit up the scene as officers looked under cars parked along the street. Some officers went into a house in front of the car to take photos of the scene from the porch on the second floor.

About an hour after being on scene, police brought in a K-9 Unit.

Several people who walked through the residential street asked police about the scene, and officers escorted one woman to her house on Juliette Street.
