Red Sox fans are in for a real treat this Halloween.
Players will climb board duck boats for a World Series victory parade that will leave Fenway Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The parade will roll along major streets, including Boylston and Tremont, before ending at City Hall Plaza.
Handicapped accessible viewing areas will be located in Copley Square at the corner of Boylston and Clarendon streets next to Trinity Church, and at City Hall Plaza near the Government Center T stop.
Jubiliant fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite players or the World Series trophy are in luck. The forecast calls for sunshine, with “just a couple of clouds in the sky,” and temperatures in the 50s, said Lenore Correia, meteorologist at the National Weather Service.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Police Commissioner William Gross urge fans to celebrate responsibly. Fans are asked to leave backpacks, coolers, strollers and other large items at home.
With major street closings and parking restrictions in place, the public is encouraged to take public transportation to the parade.
The MBTA said on Twitter that it will offer “rush hour” service on the subway all day, and said there will be extra room on the commuter rail. Extra employees will be stationed at major stops to provide directions and help riders buy tickets.
Traffic along the parade route and on other streets in Fenway will be closed off from as early as 5 a.m. until the end of the rally, according to the city’s website.
