In a wide-ranging interview at Fenway Park last week, Xander Bogaerts happily answered all questions until the topic of his fraternal twin brother came up.

Jair Bogaerts played parts of two minor league seasons with the Red Sox before he was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2012. He was released a few months later.

Now Jair Bogaerts is working for the Beverly Hills Sports Council and one of its lead agents, Rafa Nieves.

Xander Bogaerts continues to be represented by Scott Boras, a rival of BHSC.

“It’s kind of a sensitive subject for me,” Xander Bogaerts said. “It’s not something I really like to talk about.”

Jair Bogaerts will be at the All-Star Game and remains close to his brother.

“Very close,” Xander Bogaerts said. “But what he’s doing, that’s him. It’s not something I should talk about.”
