The chaos on display among Republicans in the US House of Representatives (“A GOP moment turns to chaos: Despite 3 votes, McCarthy foiled for speaker in a struggle not seen in a century,” Page A1, Jan. 4) demonstrates quite clearly what we have all come to know after four years of President Donald Trump: Republicans don’t know how to govern, they only know how to rule — and they don’t do that very well, either.
