Eastern Mass. boys’ volleyball: Globe Players of the Week for April 4-10

Luke Dratch, Natick — Compiling 58 assists, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and a kill, the junior directed a five-set Bay State victory Thursday, the first loss of the season for defending champion Newton North.

Brady Kundel, Barnstable — The junior smacked 16 kills and three blocks as the Red Hawks came back from down a set twice to beat Millis in five sets on April 4.

Eric Su, Cambridge — In a signature win of the early season, the senior doled out 41 assists in Wednesday’s four-setter over BC High.

Viet Tran, Lynn Classical — MVP of the Lynn City Tournament as the Rams repeated, the senior captain knocked 15 kills in the straight-set finals victory over Lynn Tech on April 5.

Kristaps Vaivars, Brookline — The senior hitter slammed 16 kills in a sweep of Needham, Brookline’s first win over the Rockets in 14 years.
