The first set was a bit unsettling at the service line for the Bishop Feehan girls’ volleyball team. Eight misses in a 25-23 loss to Cambridge.

But 11th-seeded Feehan regrouped, focusing on the service line, and service-receive, and closed out the 3-1 win, 25-14, 25-11, 25-11 over No. 22 Cambridge in the Division 1 first-round match in Attleboro.

Seniors Mia Barnes (12 kills, 14 digs), senior Ella Perkoski (12, digs, 8 kills, 6 aces) and Brooke Mitchell (23 assists) paced the attack for the Shamrocks (12-8).

“We just couldn’t find our momentum,” Feehan coach Abigail Soutter said. “In that next set we picked it up. We started serving them, a little bit more aggressive and picked up the communication on our side of the map.”

Feehan will play the Lexington/Andover winner in the second round.

“I’m proving to these girls that this is the expectations I want,” Soutter said. “I want to push this program and this team to be a big name in Massachusetts.”
